This ceramic jar is characterized by a bulbous form and dramatic, organic negative space cutouts. The piece appears to be wheel-thrown and then hand-carved to create the teardrop apertures that allow light to pass through the body of the jar. It features a tenmoku style glaze that breaks from dark, glossy greenish black to lighter copper or rust tones around the edges of the shapes. To complete the piece, the potter has included a graceful lid to add elegance to this jar. The size is 8"H x 5"W. Handmade original artwork by artisan Lynne Shanrock.
